To Develop Impactful Technologies Addressing Mankind Challenges. We leverage the fourth state of matter, plasmas, and ultra-high temperature, up to and above the sun’s surface temperature, to manufacture cost-competitive, high quality, and novel materials and to minimize, recycle, and treat waste to ensure a clean environment. We strive for a better life and healthy environment through superior technologies, and high-quality and cost-effective products with reduced or negative carbon emissions.
USPlasma Inc. is a spinoff project based on research from the
University of Maryland and Princeton University.

Liangbing Hu
Dr. Liangbing Hu is the Carol and Douglas Melamed Professor of Electrical & Computer Engineering at Yale University. He is a prominent figure in the academic and scientific community. His research focuses on materials innovations, device integration, and manufacturing, with ongoing research on electrified ultrahigh-temperature synthesis, energy storage beyond Li-ion batteries, and novel wood nanotechnologies.

Jicheng Zhao
Dr. Ji-Cheng Zhao is the Dean of the College of Engineering, Professor at Material Science and Engineering at University of Connecticut. Professor Zhao’s research focuses on the design of advanced alloys and coatings, additive manufacturing (3D printing) of alloys and composites, high-throughput materials science methodologies, determination of phase diagrams and other materials properties, computational thermodynamics and kinetics, and hydrogen/energy storage materials

Yiguang Ju
Dr. Yiguang Ju is the Robert Porter Patterson Professor in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering and served as the Director of the Sustainable Energy Program. Prof. Ju’s research interests include combustion, low carbon fuels and energy conversion in the areas of near-limit and supercritical combustion, plasma-assisted combustion and non-equilibrium manufacturing, alternative fuels, chemical kinetics, and energy materials.

Ahmad Soltani
Ahmad is an impactful leader with over 30 years of work experience in the USA and Germany. He held position of increasing responsibilities in R&D, manufacturing, new product and business development, strategy consulting, M&A, strategic business unit management with external annual sales of $250 million, procurement overseeing $1 billion of annual spend as CPO and Innovation and Licensing management. He began his career with UCC&P as a Project Scientist. He also worked for Arco, Lyondell, Bayer, and UMD. Ahmad earned his doctorate in Chem. Eng. from WVU and an MBA with Distinction from The Wharton School, UPenn. Ahmad holds nine patents and has authored several publications.

Hamideh Soltani
Dr. Hamideh Soltani is an accomplished leader with a broad educational background and international work experience. She has successfully led grant and fundraising initiatives and played a key role in establishing the first USPlasma R&D facility and staffing it with a team of scientists and engineers. Hamideh holds a Ph.D. in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of Delaware, an M.S. in Water Resources from Villanova University, and a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Maryland. Hamideh has published several refereed publications, including co-authoring the Encyclopedia “Catalysis from A-Z”.
